I recently came across this 10 Day green smoothie cleanse by a buddy of mine. Normally the idea of detoxing to me is silly. I remember learning in high school that our bodies were like a “self-cleaning ovens”, as per Mr. Bernardo, my former Medical technology teacher. I thought to myself wow, how cool are our bodies. So, when I was introduced to this I thought “our bodies don’t need to be detoxed; It does it on its own”.
I was not satisfied with my own reasoning so I decided to get the book “10 Day Green Smoothie Cleanse” by JJ Smith from Amazon. It was like $10 bucks (no shipping fees because I have Amazon Prime which I absolutely LOVE). As I read this book I start to understand why it’s a good idea to reset your body and train it to crave the whole foods are bodies are meant to eat and break down. So many of the processed foods we eat (anything in the frozen aisle or things like potato chips, etc.) cause our digestive issues. I for one related to this because I suffer from acid reflux, bloating and constipation. Sorry if that TMI but hey we are all human and I know I’m not the only one suffering from these issues.
To think that these issues can be treated and cured just from the foods you eat? For me this is worth the try. I don’t want to be putting medications into my body for issues that can be treated naturally. Some medications (omeperzol for acid reflux, or any laxative) not necessary and can be completely avoided. I’m not trying saying I’m going ALL organic or going to be a vegan but I would like as little man-made chemicals (medication, pesticides etc.) in my body.
I will be trying this 10 day green smoothie cleanse after I finish reading this book and will start probably this weekend (Saturday 8/27/16 ending on Monday Sept 5th). I will be documenting how I feel while detoxing and of course how much weight loss. So who wants to join me??? Please comment and lets keep each other accountable!
